Hey guys!

This has been a crazy roller coaster of a year but I’m SO excited to finally say that we are officially going to be able to create a community of parents who will come together in their celebration of parent-hood AND the peace and quiet that can now come along with it. 🙂

My journey to start The Hive
My journey started Christmas 2015 when I saw a similar concept in my hometown of Baton Rouge. For the entirety of my 8 hour trip home (well actually 12 hrs since we had 2 toddlers in tow), I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing an idea it was! I am a graphic designer by trade and there was nowhere to bring the kiddos if I had a last-minute project that I need to work on or a conference call that I couldn’t miss. I needed a resource that was as flexible as I need to be for my clients. Soooooo, I figured why not solve that problem myself! Other people do big things like this, why can’t I (gulp)!

My story
A Louisiana girl at heart, I am originally from Baton Rouge and went to LSU (Geaux Tigers!) but moved to Austin in 2007 and fell in love, both with the city AND my amazingly supportive and sweet husband Brent. A few years later came our sweet little kiddos Annie (4 yrs old) and Owen (2 yrs old).

So that’s the story and we’re stickin’ to it! Please, please, please help us along in our journey and share our site and Facebook page with your friends and family!

Excitedly Yours,

Shelly Weiser

I hate that we're losing such a wonderful iconic Austin spot with Kiddie Acres closing. The Hive will do our best to continue providing parents a chance to rest their tired feet. ...
