The Hive was a concept born out of necessity and we’ve grown into something entirely amazing and unique. We get a lot of questions from customers who are curious to know more about who we are, what we do, and everything that we offer, so we’re betting you have some questions too! This blog will clear things up by answering some of the most frequently asked questions we get about The Hive.
1. What ARE you?
That is both a simple question and a very complex question all rolled into one. The quick and easy reply is a coffee shop with co-working space available for rent as well as on-site childcare. We have many other facets of the business as well, which makes it a bit harder to explain. After stumbling upon our location, it lends itself to so much more: live music, birthday parties, vendor markets, Christmas events…you name it and we do it! Man are we tired!
2. How did you come up with the concept?
The saying “necessity is the mother of all invention” is one hundred percent accurate in this case. I had a 17-month-old, an infant, and a traveling husband and am a freelance graphic designer. We did not need full-time care, but I was desperate for help when I had a last-minute project or fire to put out. I had heard similar concepts so I began my research and two years later we opened on October 23, 2017!
3. When are you coming to North Austin?
While we most definitely have it on our radar the head up north when the timing is right, one of the main reasons businesses fail is that they grow too quickly. We want to make one hundred percent sure that the model is completely figured out before we try to recreate it. We are hurrying, I promise! Who knows, maybe there will be an East and West Hive one day also.
